  • Introduction to TOPIK (Korean Language Exam)


    The TOPIK test is a Korean language proficiency test administered by the Korean government. It is a test of Korean language ability for foreigners. It is divided into TOPIK I (1,2) and TOPIK II (3 ~ 6). Writing, reading, and listening are 100 points each. In Korea, it is conducted four times a year in January, April, July, and October. In 60 countries overseas, it is conducted once or twice a year during April and October. In 2012, 151,166 people took this exam. The passing rate is around 50%. Since 2014, every year, the number of registration for the exam has exceeded 200,000. In 2016, the number of registration for the first exam exceeded 70,000. In fact, TOPIK has become one of the largely internationally recognized language qualification tests. The Korean Language Proficiency Test is conducted twice a year in Ankara, Turkey.
